I wanted to try making my own hot sauce, and this setup looked too good to pass up. After receiving it, I am impressed. You get the basics, like bottles to put it in, measuring cup and funnel, mesh screen, and waterproof gloves (which are handy to keep the seriously hot sauce from irritating open skin). For supplies, you get 2 packs of savory spices, vinegar to use as a base, and various shades of peppers to use. The peppers range in Scoville unit strength from mildly hot Ancho (1000-1500 shu) and Chipotle (3500 to 10,000 shu) to seriously hot Habanero (100,000 to 300,000 shu), to deadly Ghost pepper (1,042,000), to the hottest pepper grown, Carolina Reaper (1,400,000 to 2,200,000 shu).I have in the past eaten Habaneros and Scotch Bonnets raw and in sauces (and suffered a bit), but the Ghost and Reaper peppers scare me, even though I am looing forward to trying them. What I am saying here is that this is a serious setup for anyone who really wants to get into making their own hot sauce. It will impress anyone.
